ChanTan Studio lets you build a website or an app without writing a single line of code, and many people wonder how it really works, what it costs and what the rules are. This guide answers the most common questions, using the official documentation as consulted in August 2026.
What is ChanTan Studio?
ChanTan Studio is a platform that builds real websites and apps from a simple description. You type or dictate your idea, for example « an online shop for my bakery ». The AI then generates the pages, the design, the images and the data storage.
The screen is split in two: on the left you chat with the AI; on the right your site runs live and you can click inside it. When you like the result, the « Publish » button puts it online with a real web address.
You can build shops, booking pages, portfolios, dashboards, member areas or internal tools, then improve them through conversation.
Who is it useful for?
ChanTan is aimed at entrepreneurs, freelancers, e-merchants and creators who want to test an idea quickly, without a developer. It is a good way to produce a first prototype, a sales page or a small internal tool. For a very specific project, first check what the tool lets you edit and export.
How to start in 3 steps
- Create an account with an email and a password, using this ChanTan Studio link.
- Receive 5 USD of free credit: it is offered at sign-up so you can test the platform.
- Describe your project and click « Generate ». The first version appears in about 2 to 4 minutes.
Your site stays private until you publish it. The preview link is temporary and personal.
How much does it cost?
There is no monthly subscription to build. You pay as you go with prepaid credits: 1 USD equals 128 credits, and credits never expire.
- Creating an account and projects: free.
- Publishing: free.
- Building or editing with AI: credits, depending on the work actually done.
- Voice dictation: about 1 credit per recording.
- Hosting: first month free, then 128 credits per month per published app (under 1 USD). Hosting billing is not yet active for now.
- Domain name: paid separately by card, depending on the extension.
Credit packs range from 10 USD (1,280 credits) to 500 USD (76,800 credits). The 200 USD and 500 USD packs add 20% extra credits. A small pack is enough to test.
The rules to know
- Credit reserve: before a build, part of your balance is set aside. It is not a charge, and the unused part returns automatically.
- Interrupted build: only the completed part is billed.
- Undo: every build is saved as a version, and the « Undo » button lets you go back.
- Unpaid hosting: you receive reminders and about 7 days to top up. A paused site is never deleted and goes back online once you top up.
- Payment: card only, with six fixed packs. There is no free amount, no PayPal and no bank transfer.
- No quote before creation: costs appear afterwards in « Credit activity ».
- Legitimate payments: credit top-ups, domains and hosting. A monthly ChanTan subscription does not exist today.
Pro, Pro Max or Ultra: which engine?
All three engines build your app and check their own work before handing it back. They differ in working style and relative cost.
- Chantan Pro ($): the default choice for everyday use.
- Chantan Pro Max ($$): when appearance matters and each page needs character.
- Chantan Ultra ($$$): when the app handles real people's data, such as accounts, orders or messages.
You can switch engines at any time without penalty, and it does not change what already exists. When in doubt, keep Pro.
How to spend fewer credits
- Use the « Plan first » mode: you approve the plan before any build.
- Make short, precise requests rather than vague ones.
- Try the free daily wheel spin, which gives between 5 and 500 credits.
- Use the 2% to 5% cashback depending on your loyalty level.
Limits to know
- There is no theme gallery: you describe, the AI builds.
- There is no code editor. You can view the code, but changes go through the chat.
- There is no ZIP download. To get your code, you push it to a private GitHub repository.
- Domains do not renew automatically: note the renewal date.
- Large projects are more comfortable on a computer, even though the tool works on a phone.
As with any AI-built site, test with a small budget first before betting on an important project.
